How the AI coaching works

Which tools use AI, what they see, how long anything is kept, and the line the AI never crosses.

Where AI is used — and where it isn't

Two tools use AI, and only two:

  • Interview Prep reads a practice answer you typed and coaches it — what to make more specific, where to add evidence.
  • Resume Workshop (and the “test my resume against this role” button on a job) reads your resume and suggests what to sharpen before it goes out.

Everything else — your application tracker, the roles feed, the Work Style Profile scoring — is ordinary code with no AI in it. When AI is switched off, both tools fall back to a version that still works.

What the AI actually sees

Only what you put in front of it, plus the public job posting:

You submitYour practice answer, or your resume text — paired with a job description that is already public on nextpathcp.com.
It goes to a third-party AI serviceThe text is sent to a third-party AI service, which writes the coaching. You tick a box confirming that before anything is sent.
You get feedbackSuggestions come back and are shown to you. No score, no ranking against other people.

Nothing from your Bullhorn record is sent beyond what you can already see on your own portal. The AI is never given your Work Style result.

What is kept, and for how long

The “test my resume against this role” check stores nothing at all — the feedback is shown and then it's gone. A resume review or a practice session is kept only so you can look back at it, and only until it ages out or you delete it.

Deleting your account removes your practice history and saved resume reviews along with everything else you created. The full text of what you typed is never shown to a recruiter.

What it can and can't do

It is a coach, not a judge. It can be wrong, it can miss things, and its suggestions are a starting point — not a verdict on you or your resume. Treat it the way you'd treat a friend reading your draft: useful, worth a second opinion, not the final word.

It can be turned off

The AI features sit behind a switch NextPath can flip off without taking the site down. When it's off, Interview Prep still scores your answers and the rest of the portal works exactly as before — you just don't get the AI-written coaching until it's back.

The line the AI never crosses

The AI helps you prepare. It does not decide anything. It never scores you, never ranks you against other candidates, and never changes which roles you're put forward for. Role matches are based on the work you've done and what you've told us you want — never on your Work Style result, and never on anything the AI wrote.

Every recruiting decision is made by a person, the same as it always has been.
